If you have any doubt about the Cleveland heads breathing well, compare the valve diameters to the 390, 427, 428 and even the 460 Police Interceptor. ;

Mar 24, 2006 · i would go with the aussie 2v heads. they have the smaller 2v ports and the small chamber of the 4v quench heads. even the 2v ports are huge and they will build more bottom end torque than the large port 4v heads. i would recommend about 10-10.25:1 compression and a fairly aggressive cam I have a mild 351c in my Cougar convertible, mild being defined as 9:1 compression (as far as I know), dual plane Edelbrock Performer intake, Crower Baja Beast hydraulic cam, Edelbrock 600cfm carb, Mallory magnetic breakerless ignition (mechanical advance), headers, and essentially stock 2v heads.

Sep 06, 2019 · If a cam grind gives a certain result in a SBC the same grind will give a very different result in your 351c. Your engine has very good heads, the SBC not so much. Tune the Cleveland by selecting carb, intake and headers to let the cylinder heads breathe for HP and don't overcam or you risk losing low end torque. You can get a 4V motor to run just fine on the street and not crank it over 6200-6300rpm max. When I was running my first 4V Cleveland with a 268H cam and a toploader it would run high 12s and I drove it daily. It made for a fun street car. I would recommend a bigger carb too. The 71-74 351C 4V heads, like the 2V heads, will not give your engine enough increase in CR to warrant changing your heads. However, the 70-71 CJ (Cobra Jet) 4V heads will give your engine a considerable increase in CR. Unfortunately, the 351C 4V heads are not a good choice for a low RPM truck engine. Since the last time when it ran 5.84 @ 116 with a 1.24 60ft, I have attempted to tweak it to make it a little happier on the alky. I designed and built a new intake, headers and cast aluminum inserts for the intake ports(for alky compatibility). I also backed the cam up 6 degrees. The conditions at the track were not the greatest. This is a stock style setup for the Ford 351 Cleveland, featuring the stock 3.500". well first off you are out to lunch here hahaha. all of your parts are mixed up. if your only planning on running 5600rpm with a small cam, get rid of the 4v heads and put the 2v's back on. the 4v heads with the 351c like to be reved to at least 6500rpm, unless you have larger cu in like a 393 or 408. the 2v heads still flow pretty good, if you use a small cam like the one you listed, you will ...
